CESSO Under The 16 Days of Activism Against GBV and IPV
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) was a great opportunity for raising attention, preventing and supporting the victims. People gathered to listen, exchange ideas, and stand up against such violence.
The day then commenced with racing activities to signify unity and strength. CESSO and other participants ran to win the race and support the survivors. Every stride demonstrated the power required to fight and eradicate GBV and IPV in society.

Group discussions encouraged the audience to express themselves freely. People told stories, demystifying myths, and everyone spoke out. Such conversations helped the participants reflect on the importance of speaking out and supporting survivors who feel violated. They also received helpful information on the same and practical aids, legal rights in specific situations, and counseling services.

Some of the highlights included how to involve men and boys in combating GBV and IPV. CESSO were also encouraged to embrace the notion that men have a significant responsibility to challenge negative gender norms and promote equitable relationships.
On the last day of the event, CESSO and the rest of participants became ready to be aware and do something. Survivors empower students by using the knowledge acquired from the course to educate others and vulnerable groups and advocate for change.

It was a wake-up call for the need to sustain the fight against GBV and IPV, condemning it as a social cancer that must be done with remorse. Each person, each conversation, each move creates a world in which we strive towards eliminating violence.
